August Prompt
Librarians! Libraries! I admit to being biased (as I am a librarian), but I think fanfic in general is a hospitable place when it comes to libraries and their staff. The library AU – like the coffee shop AU – is a well-respected (if slightly less prolific) subgenre of the medium.
So for August, write a fic involving a library. Does one of your characters work in a library or aspire to do so? Does the happy couple “meet cute” studying in the library? Does the hunt for a rare book or manuscript in a special collections repository lead to after-hours shenanigans? Does a library book checked out by one character contain a clue leading to the other character (if so, was it left behind accidentally or placed there purposefully)?As always: Write your piece and post it to AO3 under this collection.
