Q:What do you think about the criticism that some fans just watch Teen Wolf because of Sterek?

Why should I dictate (or anyone, for that matter) how or why you should watch a show? If you want to watch it because of Scott or Sterek or the lore or simple because it’s fun, then it’s all right.
No one owes your experience of that particular show. You don’t own anyone. Sometimes you watch a show because you want to have fun, sometimes it’s just noise while you clean the house and sometimes it’s all you can think about for weeks. I can’t tell if you ship Sterek or no. I do. But I don’t watch Teen Wolf just for them. Sometimes I watch something because of a character or a story line. Sometimes I stop watching something (cof, supernatural, cof) if I’m not happy with it.
But that’s just me. Let’s take Supernatural, for example. 90% of my dash is not happy with a lot of things about SPN. But they still watch it and love it and that’s fine. I don’t think “how can these people watch it when <insert particular thing that flor doesn’t like about spn>!”
Because that’s my opinion. And it’s not theirs. And, fuck it, who am I to tell them how to watch a show?
In the end, watch it for yourself. If you love canon, fine. If you don’t, fine. But don’t feel obligated to keep watching because of this or that. And don’t get me started on the “true fan” bullshit.
It’s your time and your experience. You don’t own that to anyone but yourself. Watch what makes you happy.

I gotta say, much of my reading/viewing life wouldn’t happen if not for the fannish revisions going on in my head!canon. That’s just the way it is when the mainstream media doesn’t reflect your reality 99.9% of the time.
