No-one of my acquaintance has ever mentioned that once they hooked up after calling out unsolicited comments on the physical attractions or personal demeanour of someone they’d never met before. If this is a way for heterosexual people to make connections across the intimidating chasm of gender difference, it’s staggeringly ineffective.
